The stairways up to La Butte
can make the wretched sigh
while windmill wings of The Moulin
shelter you and I.

-Complainte de la Butte (from Moulin Rouge)

Yes! A submission for...some art thing where I live. Anyway, inspired by the above lyrics from Complainte de la Butte, which is from the ever-awesome movie, Moulin Rouge! ^^

Not sure how long it took, but it was done with Micron pens (005 and 02, most likely), Prismacolor markers, and my two Tria markers (THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE; however, Prismas have a really, really horrible selection of shades of red--in other words, they have normal red, pinker red, and oranger red--so I had to get a dark red Tria and a darker red Tria to compensate for the Prismas' problem). Yes. I am very, very proud of it, though I could be happier with her hair, it's kind of...boring, I dunno. I wanted it to be like Cecelia's hair in my picture Eternally Retold, but that didn't quite work out, as I forgot what the color combination for that was. *le sigh*

I'm about done now! *hugs picture...only not literally because that would bend it*

Complainte de la Butte belongs to Georges Van Parys and Jean Renoir
RANDOM GIRL BELONGS TO ME!! *laughs manaiacally*

:jawdrop: OMFG Giwy! This is so amazing! I could never be a third of how awesome you are! A tenth even! I suck! I just want to KILL myself!!!

Hehe, just kidding. =D Seriously, this picture turned out wonderful! C'est magnifique! The wings/arms of the windmill look beautiful, and I love the colors you used on the fabric draped on them. As for the hair, I know you were unhappy with it's color, but I really like it a lot. It makes it seem... more real, y'know? Bright blue hair may be totally sweet, but it's a cheap trick compared to taking a quite average hair color and making it look extraordinary.

Ooh, other cool things I see upon looking at it in full view... Reeeally nice job with that sheer top, that must've been tough with marker. And OMG, black lace! I love black lace. If it weren't for 2 key factors, I would wear black lace all the time. 1-- All clothes I see with black lace are sadly heinous. 2) My name is Grace...lace...vase...it wouldn't be pretty. Anyways, teh lace looks so gorgeous in this picture! It must've taken you hella long, but it is such a great detail! And the beauty, truth, freedom, and love written on the banner is ever so crafty. :ninja:

Wah, this comment is so long. Good. :giggle:

In stark comparison to your incredulously, wonderfully long comment, I have two words.

LOVE. YOU.

Thankyouuuuuuuuuuu!! :glomp:

(Hee hee, "And when I get there, I'm going to LACE GRACE." X3)

(That was more than two words.)

"Okay, get that picture in your head of L when he's talking about the good guys. Now look at that cow."
I love this Gillian. Your clothing folds are, stupendous. I am also very jealous of your coloring skills, it is so great it even looks like it was CGed instead of colored. Your insane creativity in all your pictures scares me, you have one great mind. I love how part of her angel wings are windmills, which i JUST NOW noticed. It is beautiful.

you being this good now, makes me scared of what you will be like in a couple years. i am even scared of what your art will be in 1 year!
